Highbury Grove
Highbury Grove Court is situated over a mainline for British Rail. We were asked to find a solution to enable the railway elevation to be completed. the works included - geotechnical works at ground level, re pointing, stack replacements, window installations and painting. The railway track was approx 3 meters from the building, so scaffolding was completely out of the question! working closely with Network rail we completed all geotech work during a planned power shutdown of the line. the work was conducted at night to minimise disruption to commuters and work had to be finished within 2 hours!! All works were monitored closely by the project managers for both companies as this project could of posed a real safety issues so we all had to be vigilant at all times. Our work included the replacement of cast iron stacks and fixings, external assistance and mastic application of new UPVC windows, extensive brickworks and over 100m2 of repointing and the painting of previously painted areas. All works were completed to the highest standard ans the surveying company and the contractors first collaboration with industrial abseiling was a resounding success, since, we have since worked with both the surveyor and client again.
